Nirjala Ekadashi 2024: Observed on the eleventh day of the waxing moon in the Hindu month of Jyeshtha, Nirjala Ekadashi is a sacred day in Hinduism. The Nirjala Vrat, a water-free fast observed on this day, is the source of the name of this Ekadashi. Of the 24 Ekadashis, it is considered to be the most challenging and, hence, the most sacred. Out of the 24 Ekadashis throughout the year, it is considered the most rewarding and gratifying fast when carried out honestly. This year, Nirjala Ekadashi vrat is being observed on 18th June 2024.
Renowned astrologer Pandit Jagannath Guruji shares some extremely helpful remedies to follow on this auspicious day so you may fully dedicate yourself to completing your fast.
Nirjala Ekadashi 2024: Remedies To Follow On Bhimseni Ekadashi
- Recite Om Namo Vasudevay Namah throughout the day on Nirjala Ekadashi as you honour Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi and observe a fast. By doing this, your prayers will be answered and you will receive the desired result.
- The best day of the month to get rid of any form of problem in life is Nirjala Ekadashi. On this day, offering Panjiri to Lord Vishnu is considered to be extremely auspicious. All problems in life can be resolved by putting a basil leaf into the handmade Panjiri and giving it to the Lord.
- On the day of Nirjala Ekadashi, 11 lamps should be lit with pure cow ghee next to the Tulsi plant in the home in order to bring happiness and success into your married life. Furthermore, the Tulsi plant should be wrapped eleven times around. This is considered to be very fortunate.
- Sandalwood tilak should be applied on Nirjala Ekadashi following the procedures to please Lord Vishnu. Furthermore, it is recommended to recite the mantra 'Om Ah Aniruddhaya Namah' 108 times. Happiness, success, and overall well-being in life will result from doing this.
- On the day of Nirjala Ekadashi, give water, sharbat, yellow fruits, clothes, mango, watermelon, or sugar to a poor, needy, or Brahmin person in order to remove impediments from Kundli. This is said to be very virtue-filled and will solve all of your issues.

Nirjala Ekadashi 2024: What To Do On Bhimseni Ekadashi?
Devotees must get up early on Nirjala Ekadashi in order to see the dawn. Put on a fresh garment after taking a shower, and use a mat or towel to make sure the area is ready for your puja. Before lighting a lamp and burning incense sticks, begin the puja by invoking Bhagwan Vishnu's blessings.
Present Bhagwan Vishnu's idol with flowers, water, tulsi leaves, fruits, sweets, and other offerings that please Lord Vishnu. Chant the Vishnu Sahasranama or any other Vishnu mantra, such as “Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya” with devotion.
Perform a Tulsi Puja, which is revered on Ekadashi, after the prayer. You have to present flowers and recite Vishnu Sahasranamam. During the day or night, you should refrain from eating or drinking anything because this is a water-free fast. At night, do aarti to culminate puja. The next day, break your fast with a light meal and lemon water.
You should drink water to signal that the fast is over and eat whenever it is convenient for you if, for whatever reason, you are unable to break your fast the next day. Offer the food to Lord Vishnu as prasad before you consume it.
Nirjala Ekadashi 2024: Observing Ekadashi Vrat And Rituals
On Nirjala Ekadashi, a complete fast is kept without even drinking water, in contrast to other Ekadashi where abstinence from eating is practised. The waterless fast is exceedingly holy and is said to be particularly difficult to keep because it happens during the hot Indian summer. Starting at sunrise on Nirjala Ekadashi and finishing at sunrise the next day, the fast lasts for a whole day.
