Pitru Paksha 2025: Unexpected difficulties can arise for families when a loved one dies young or suddenly. If the correct rituals, like tarpan, are not done, it can result in Pitra Dosh, which may cause trouble like health or money problems or strained relationships. According to religious texts, Pitru Paksha is a good time to alleviate these issues. If someone in your family died unexpectedly or had Akaal Mriytu, doing a special tarpan during Pitru Paksha is important to satisfy their soul.

It is believed that if someone died too soon, tarpan should be performed for that soul on the Chaturdashi tithi of Pitru Paksha. This custom might keep the family safe from sudden problems and provide solace to those who have passed away.

Offering Tarpan and performing charity in the names of these ancestors is highly significant during Pitru Paksha. By doing this, people can lessen the effects of Pitra Dosh. Astropatri shares the vidhi to perform tarpan for the deceased family members who had Akal Mrityu or untimely death.

Showing respect for ancestors by performing tarpan with dedication is very important. The Hindu scriptures suggest that this act can help ease problems, sickness and worry. To do tarpan, first, take a bath and put on fresh clothes.

Then, sit facing south, the direction where ancestors are thought to live, and offer prayers to them. While doing this ritual, use sesame seeds, Kush grass, Akshat rice and water. Mix the sesame seeds and Kush in water, and offer the mixture three times, requesting your ancestors to accept your offering.

On the fourteenth day of Pitru Paksha, make simple food to honour your ancestors. Give this meal to Brahmins, but if that isn't possible, feed it to cows, crows, dogs or people who need it. Doing so is considered equally auspicious. Along with the food, donate clothes, grains, sesame seeds to the needy.
