Pitru Paksha Mela 2023 Start And End Date: According to the Vedic calendar, Pitru Paksha starts from the Pratipada date of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month. In Sanatan Dharma, Pitru Paksha holds special importance. It is believed that during the period of Pitru Paksha, ancestors descend from heaven to bless their family members. Hindus pay homage to their ancestors during this time.
It is a religious belief that by performing Shraddha Karma, Tarpan, Pinddaan and bathing in Pitru Paksha, one gets happiness and prosperity in life. Also, by doing these deeds during this period, the souls of the ancestors get peace and they shower their blessings.
What is Pitru Paksha 2023 start date?
According to the Panchang, the Pratipada date of Ashwin Krishna Paksha is falling on Friday, 29 September 2023. It will begin on this date. Pitru Paksha ends on the new moon day of Ashwin Krishna Paksha, which is falling on Saturday, 14 October 2023. In Vikram Samvat 2080, Pitru Paksha is starting 15 days late because of Adhik Maas or Purushottam Maas.

Pitru Paksha 2023 Mela Start Date:
More than 15 lakh devotees visit Gaya on the occasion of Pitru paksha. The Pitru Paksha mela will start on 28th September and will run till 14th October. The Gaya district administration has started preparing for the fair and it is expected to be grand. Gaya's DM Dr. Thiagarajan SM has asked the officials to maintain cleanliness and smooth functions at railway stations for the movement of the passengers.
Pitru Paksha 2023: Remedies and Upay
It is known in the scriptures that there is special importance of bath, donation and tarpan etc. in Pitru Paksha. During this period, Shradh Karma or Pinddaan should be done. Along with this, donate food, money or clothes to a Brahmin or to the needy. By doing this, ancestors give their blessings.
According to the date of death of Pitru Paksha ancestors, Shradh Karma or Pinddaan is performed. If a person does not remember the date of the death of his ancestors, then he can do Pinddaan on the new moon day of Ashwin Krishna Paksha. Doing this also results in blessings.
