Purnima December 2025: The full moon holds a very sacred and auspicious place in the Hindu calendar. The full moon or Purnima tithi that falls every month is considered a day that brings good fortune, prosperity, and morale. When this full moon falls in the month of Margashirsha, its significance is further enhanced. This is called Margashirsha Purnima, and it is believed that on this day, the moon, in its full glory, brings peace, contentment, and positive energy to life. Devotees must worship Lord Vishnu, Goddess Lakshmi, and the Moon God on this sacred day. Worship of Lord Satyanarayan is also considered highly fruitful on Purnima. In Hinduism, each Purnima tithi has its own sacred and auspicious significance. This sacred date is believed to bring good fortune, wealth, prosperity, and mental balance. However, when the full moon falls in the month of Margashirsha, its effect becomes even more powerful. This date is called Margashirsha Purnima. It is believed that on this day the moon shines with all its 16 phases, and its divine energy brings peace, tranquility and positivity into life.

Reciting the story of Lord Satyanarayan on this day increases happiness, prosperity, and good fortune in the family. Fasting and worshipping the Moon God also pacifies the lunar defects associated with the horoscope. Donating sesame seeds, jaggery, ghee, blankets, food items, or money as per your capacity on this day is considered extremely auspicious on this occasion.
