Interesting Facts About Barsana: All devotees beginning the road of devotional service have Shri Radha as their pillar, ideal, and ultimate shelter. It is difficult to even approach Lord Krishna without first receiving the mercy of Srimati Radharani. The literal counterpart of Lord Sri Krishna is the transcendental goddess Srimati Radha Rani. All of the goddesses of fortune are centred around her. She possesses all the charm necessary to entice the supremely attractive Godhead Personality. She represents Lord Krishna's own primordial power. Radha is known by various beautiful names such as Radhika, Shree Ji, Laadli Laal, Shyama Pyari and Kishori.
People also revere her by using the phrase “Barsane Wali” since she spent her childhood and performed various transcendental pastimes in Barsana, also known as Vrishabhanupur, which is located 25 kilometres northwest of Mathura. Barsana is such a beautiful and alluring place that entering there and taking in its exquisite scenery instantly transports one's heart and mind to a state of devotion. Let us take a look at 7 interesting facts about Barsana Dham, which is known as the abode of Radha Rani.
7 Interesting Facts About Barsana Dham
1. Adjacent To The Residence Of 8 Sakhis - Similar to how a lotus flower has a spiral and eight petals, Shrimati Radha Rani's residence, Barsana, is like the whorl of the lotus. Surrounding Barsana are the villages of all eight of Her Sakhis.
2. Brahma Hill And Vishnu Hill - Barsana is built up on two hills that are close to one another. Brahma Hill is the name of the longer, white-coloured hill while Vishnu Hill is the name of the darker-coloured hill. According to the Padma Purana, in order to acquire the dust from goddess Radha Rani, Lord Krishna and their devotees' lotus feet on his heads, Lord Brahma took the shape of these hills in Barsana.

3. Glories Of The Brahma And Vishnu Hills - These hills have four summits: Bhangarh, Maangarh, Daangarh, and Vilasgarh. Each of these peaks represents one of Lord Brahma's heads. While the remaining three summits are located on Brahma Hill, Vilasgarh is located on Vishnu Hill.
4. Shriji Temple Of Barsana - The well-known Shriji temple is located above Bhangarh. This Shriji deity, sometimes referred to as Laadli Lal (The Beloved One), was first established by Vajranabh, the grandson of Lord Krishna about 5000 years ago. Shri Radha used to play at the palace of Vrishabhanu Maharaj, which lies right at the bottom of the steps leading to Shriji Temple.
5. Glories Of Pili Pokhar - A magnificent pond named Pili Pokhar is located directly across the avenue from Shriji Temple. It is believed that in order to get over her shyness, Radha Rani came and washed her hands in this pond when Yashoda Maiya applied turmeric paste on Shri Radhika's hands upon accepting her as the bride of Lord Krishna. As a result, the water's hue changed to golden yellow.
6. Glories Of Maan Mandir, Mor Kutir And Krishna Kund - The Maan Mandir, where Shrimati Radharani would withdraw in Her sublime loving rage against Krishna, is located atop Maangarh. Krishna begs Shrimati Radha Rani at Maan Mandir, weeps, and cries like a beggar in an effort to win her favour. There is a tiny passageway inside the temple that leads to a dim room that is thought to be where Radharani used to go and sit. Morr Kutir and Krishna Kund are located beneath Maan Mandir. In the form of a peacock and a peahen, Krishna and Radharani danced in Morr Kutir. Shrimati Radharani used to bathe in Krishna Kund or Radha Sarovar, a pond in Gahavara Vana (the forest of caves).

Here, Radharani and her Sakhis would be stopped with sticks by Krishna and His cowherd boys masquerading as tax collectors, who would demand yoghurt, butter, and ghee as a fee for passing through Sankari Khor.
