Radha Ashtami 2025: Shri Radha Jayanti or Radhashtami marks the birth anniversary or appearance day of Radha Rani, the divine consort and Hladini Shakti of Lord Shri Krishna. This sacred day is observed on the Ashtami tithi of Shukla Paksha in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada. Shri Radha Rani is known by various names like Kishori Juu, Shri Radhika, Shri Shyama Juu, etc. The divine goddess Shri Radha Rani is worshipped as the goddess of love and devotion, and is known as the one who enchants the supreme Lord Krishna himself. The occasion of her divine appearance day is celebrated with utmost fervour in the Braj Mandal, especially Barsana, Raval - her birthplace, Vrindavan, Govardhan and Mathura. This year, Radha Ashtami 2025 date falls on 31st August 2025.

Radha Ashtami 2025: Date And Time
This year, Radha Ashtami 2025 Vrat will be observed by the devotees on 31st August 2025, Sunday. According to the Panchang, the Ashtami tithi begins at 10:46 PM on 30th August 2025 and ends at 12:57 AM on 1st September 2025.
Radha Ashtami 2025: Shubh Muhurat
The Madhyahna Radha Ashtami 2025 Shubh Muhurat falls between 11:09 AM to 01:36 PM on 31st August 2025. The most auspicious puja time is from 2:31 PM to 5:56 PM, during which the devotees can perform abhishekam and other significant rituals.
Radha Ashtami 2025: Significance
Shri Radha Rani was born to King Vrishabhanu and Queen Kirtida in Raval. It is believed that Radha Rani was found by Vrishabhanu Ji during the Brahma Muhurata, when he was taking a bath on the banks of River Yamuna. With her eyes closed, little Radha Rani was floating upon a lotus with 1000 petals and a radiant golden shine. The goddess performed her divine pastimes in Barsana and Vrindavan with Lord Shri Krishna and her beloved Ashta-Sakhis or eight prime friends.

It is believed that Radha Rani is the giver of Krishna-prem or Krishna-Bhakti, without her mercy, no one can attain the blessings of Lord Krishna or even worship him. The divine goddess is also known as Karunamayi-Sarkar, who bestows her mercy upon all and forgives their sins easily. It is believed that the devotees who perform the Radha Ashtami Vrat with utmost sincerity in heart get completely purified of their past sins.
Radha Ashtami 2025: Puja Vidhi
To perform the puja vidhi of Shri Radha Ashtami, devotees must wake up during Brahma Muhurta and, after performing morning ablutions, clean the puja altar and establish the Radha-Krishna idols. It is to be remembered that Shri Radha Rani must always be worshipped alongside Lord Krishna.
Next, perform the abhishekam of the idols with Panchamrit - Milk, curd, ghee, honey and sugar. After Panchamrit abhishekam, pour jal or water to cleanse the deity idols properly. Thereafter, dress the deity idols in blue and pink coloured clothes since they are the favourite colours of Radha Rani. After dressing them and adorning the deities with beautiful jewellery, offer Tulsi Patra or leaves.
Make sure to offer sandalwood paste, fresh flowers, dhoop, ghee deepak and naivedya to the deities. The devotees must observe fast from the Brahma Muhurata until noon till the main puja is performed. For bhog, devotees can offer Malpua, Plum Chutney, Arbi Ki Sabji and Poori to Shri Radha Rani as these are considered her favourite eatables.
If the devotees do not have an idol of Yugal Jodi or Radha Krishna, they can perform abhishekam of their Laddu Gopal and dress him as Radha Rani on Radha Ashtami, or, can visit the nearby ISKCON Temples to witness the divine abhishekam.

Radha Ashtami 2025: Celebrations In Braj Mandal
Radha Ashtami is celebrated with utmost enthusiasm in the Braj Mandal as Shri Radha is known as Vrindavaneshwari and Brajeshwari - the Queen of Vrindavan and the entire Braj Mandal. The Laadli Ji Maharaj Temple in Barsana lights up with beautiful devotions and lights to celebrate the arrival of their beloved Kishori Ju. Special abhishekam is performed at the temple and in other temples located in the Braj Dham. Additionally, a special celebration also takes place at the birthplace of Radha Rani - Raval, located a few kilometres away from Barsana.
