Saubhagya Sundari Teej 2024: Vrat Katha
According to the legend of Saubhagya Sundari Vrat, Goddess Sati was deeply hurt by her father's words and Lord Shiva's humiliation. In anguish, she renounced her physical body. Before departing, she made a promise to her father that she would return in every lifetime as Lord Shiva's wife.
Goddess Sati reincarnated as Mata Parvati and performed intense penance to win Lord Shiva's heart. Pleased with her devotion, Lord Shiva accepted her as his wife. This mythological tale marks the origin of Saubhagya Sundari Vrat. Since then, married women have observed this sacred fast to emulate Mata Parvati's unwavering dedication and devotion, seeking a harmonious and fulfilling marriage, and Lord Shiva's blessings for their husbands' well-being and their own happiness. This ancient tradition continues to be an essential part of Hindu culture and spirituality.
