What Not To Offer Lord Shiva During Sawan?
According to Hindu traditions, there are some items, though considered auspicious in rituals, that should never be offered to Lord Shiva:
1. Tulsi Leaves (Basil)
Though considered sacred, Tulsi leaves cannot be offered to Lord Shiva. According to legends, Tulsi is believed to be Goddess Vrinda in her previous birth who married demon Jalandhar. Since Lord Shiva killed Jalandhar to restore cosmic balance, Tulsi leaves are never offered to Mahadev.
2. Kumkum (vermilion)
