The two people, together with their families, are united by this sacred thread. Hindu weddings involve the bride and groom exchanging seven vows to begin their married life. Known as Saat phere, these are very important in Hinduism and define the couple's relationship throughout the following seven reincarnations. Seven Vows Of Hindu Wedding: Significance Of Saat Phere
- 1st Vow - The most significant vow made during a marriage is the first one. In the first vow, the groom promises the bride that he will be the one to provide for her needs, welfare, and happiness, as well as the needs of their offspring. In addition, the bride promises the groom that she will never escape from her responsibility for running the home and family. The bride further vows to share his responsibilities as her own.
- 2nd Vow - The groom assures the bride in the second vow that he will always be obedient and true to her. Additionally, he will always be there for his wife during good times and bad, showing her loyalty and faithfulness. He assures her that he will give her and her family financial, physical, and mental security. The bride makes a promise to the groom that she will support him no matter what and will gladly shoulder all of the duties. The bride also commits that she will carry out every responsibility with determination and courage.
- 3rd Vow - The groom commits to the bride in the third vow that he will never stop striving hard and give his all at work to bring prosperity and wealth into the home and to provide for their children's education. The bride assures the groom that she will be in charge of looking after the finances and that she will give her spouse all of her affection. She additionally vows to always be devoted to her husband and to put other men second in her life.
- 4th Vow - Expressing gratitude is the fourth pledge. The bride's contribution to the majesty and fulfilment of his life is acknowledged by the groom in their fourth vow. Furthermore, he pledges to honour both families, fulfil all of her requests, and involve her in all significant life choices. The bride promises the groom that she will be his and his family's steadfast supporter forever. She will involve him in every decision-making and respect his choices. She further vows to confront the impediment head-on if it presents itself and to stand in front of him in times of crisis.
- 5th Vow - The couple commits to be with one another and to share their feelings of happiness and sorrow with a lot of affection and compassion in the fifth vow. Additionally, they pray to God together for the blessing of healthy children, and they both wish to inculcate wholesome values and healthy habits in their offspring.
- 6th Vow - In the second last vow, the pair promises to love and respect one another, and to stick by one another through good times and bad. Together, they pray to the Lord for the blessings of a long, healthy, and happy life so that they can take on all of life's obligations and perform their duties to one another.

- 7th Vow - The pair promises one another in the seventh vow that they will be bound to one another forever. They will remain with others for all of eternity now that they are bound together by an eternal thread of unity.
