Shaligram stones can be worshipped directly since they naturally carry the Vibhuti of the Godhead, negating the need for additional cleansing and consecration rites. Shaligram stone can be worshipped in any way and without initiation, yet doing so will yield advantages. On the other hand, there are boundless benefits obtained if it is correctly worshipped and every aspect is closely followed. 

Since the Shaligtrams are formed in the Gandaki River and have discus marks on them, they are known as fossil stones. According to the narrative, after years of selfless service, the female devotee Gandaki received a blessing from Vishnu that caused him to reside in her womb as her child. Therefore, the Shaligram stones represent the facets of Vishnu. The existence of holiness in the Shaligram is for the well-being of the disciples. 

Shaligram Stone: Benefits Of Worshipping This Sacred Stone 

- It is necessary to worship an even number of Salagram stones. However, there can't be just two of them. One Salagrama is said to be the greatest, although an odd number are never worshipped. A person's merits will increase and his sins decrease if he worships twelve Salagrama stones every day with dedication.

- A devotee's mind becomes calmer, clarity of thought is encouraged, and peace of mind is brought about by having and worshipping the Shaligram at home.

- The Padma Purana, Skanda Purana, and other Vedic Scriptures state that a devotee who worships the Shaligram stone is blessed with good health, wealth, success, an ideal, and children.

- It is believed that Shaligram stone purges the soul of the sins of all past incarnations.

- Worshipping a Shaligram bestows upon devotees courage and self-assurance as well as protection from negative energies of all types and the evil eye.

- It is said that drinking the water used to bathe Sacred Shaligram will provide relief from all illnesses and sufferings. A person is believed to pass away peacefully and sin-free from this life and all past lifetimes if the water is offered to them.

- The Padma Purana states that those who worship the Salagrama with complete devotion will be able to attain Moksha, or Vaikuntha, and end the cycle of life and death. Shaligram facilitates wish fulfilment and the removal of all barriers and roadblocks.
