Haridwar Kankhal ke paas. Mahagauri tera wahan nivaas.

Chandrakali aur Mamta Ambe. Jai Shakti jai jai Maa Jagdambe.

Bhima Devi Vimala Mata. Koushik Devi jag vikhyata.

Himachal ke ghar Gauri roop tera. Mahakali Durga hai swaroop tera.

Sati (Sat) hawan kund mein tha jalaaya. Usi dhuein ne roop Kali banaaya.

Bana Dharm Singh jo savari mein aaya. To Shankar ne trishul apna dikhaaya.

Tabhi Maa ne Mahagauri naam paaya. Sharan aanevale ka sankat mitaaya.

Shanivaar ko teri puja jo karta. Maa bigda hua kaam uska sudharta.

Bhakt bolo to soch tum kya rahe ho. Mahagauri Maa teri har dam hi jai ho.

Shardiya Navratri 2025 Day 8: Puja Vidhi

To worship Mahagauri, begin by rising early, bathing, and wearing clean clothes. Purify the puja area with gangajal and set up the goddess's idol or picture. Perform an abhishek with gangajal and offer red sandalwood, kumkum, akshat, red flowers and a red dupatta. Serve fruits, kheer, and sweets as bhog. Light incense and diyas, recite the Durga Saptashati or Durga Chalisa, and perform mantra chanting and aarti. Many devotees also conduct a havan ceremony on Durga Ashtami to seek the goddess's blessings and divine energy.
