Teejri 2024: Rituals Associated With This Sacred Fast

The Teejri festivities begin a day earlier, as women and girls from the family gather in the evening to apply mehndi to each other's hands. The night before, women indulge in a hearty meal, often including rabdi or sweet pudding, to prepare for the fast ahead. Some observe a rigorous Nirjal Upwas, abstaining from even water, demonstrating their devotion to their husbands' well-being.
