Tirumala Srivari Teppotsavam 2025: Significance
The Teppotsavam festival is a five-day celebration that takes place in the lead-up to Falgun Pournami - the full moon day. According to the lunar calendar, the five days of the festival are Ekadashi, Dvadashi, Trayodashi, Chaturdashi and Pournami. Since the lunar calendar varies from the Gregorian calendar, the dates of the festival change every year.
The Teppotsavam festival has a rich history, dating back to the early days when the temple tanks were newly constructed. The festival is held in the Mandapam, a structure built by King Narasimha Raju Udayar in the late 15th century, situated in the middle of the Pushkarini tank. The festival's celestial cruise is a unique way to celebrate the deity's wonders, making it a truly special experience.
