Utpanna Ekadashi 2023: The sacred Hindu texts accord tremendous significance to Utpanna Ekadashi. It is thought that people who observe the fast with honest intentions and a pure mind are cleansed of their previous transgressions. Furthermore, it is also thought that those who wish to fast on Ekadashi should begin on Utpanna Ekadashi. Maa Ekadashi, who is defined in reference to Lord Vishnu, assisted Lord Vishnu in defeating Murasur on this day. On the same day, it is customary to worship Maa Ekadashi and Lord Vishnu and uphold a fast. It is possible to purge all of one's past and present sins by adhering to the customs of this Ekadashi vrat. Fasting on this special day also grants salvation to the devotees. 

However, there are certain do’s and don’ts that must be followed on this sacred day. Let us check out what to do and what not to do on the day of Utpanna Ekadashi in order to accumulate Lord Vishnu’s blessings.

Utpanna Ekadashi 2023: Do’s And Don’ts Of This Sacred Fast 

- The upholder of the fast must not consume tamasic food items such as meat, fish, onion, garlic, eggs and alcohol. 

- Additionally, the devotees must fast beans and grains. Milk products and fruits are allowed to be consumed by the devotees. 

- Devotees are advised to wash their hair on the Dashmi Tithi Itself. On the day of the Ekadashi fast, they must take a bath in the Brahma Muhurat and abstain from taking a head wash on the same day. 

- Devotees must not pluck the Tulsi leaves on the day of Ekadashi. 

- The upholders of the Utpanna Ekadashi fast must abstain from using oil to cook the prasadam. The Ekadashi Prasadam should be cooked in Desi Ghee. 

- The devotees must chant Lord Vishnu mantras and read Shrimad Bhagavatam or Shrimad Bhagavad Gita on the day of Ekadashi vrat. 

- The devotees must abstain from sleeping while fasting and should not abuse or speak false words.

- The upholders of the Ekadashi Vrat must only culminate the fast on the Dwadashi Tithi at the designed Parana time.
