Vidhi Of Vishwakarma Puja
Vishwakarma Puja commences with purification rituals, where devotees clean and decorate their workplaces, tools, and machinery. An idol or image of Lord Vishwakarma is installed and worshipped with offerings of flowers, fruits, and sweets. The puja begins with the lighting of a lamp (Deepak) and chanting of mantras, invoking Lord Vishwakarma's presence. Devotees then perform a sacred bath (Abhishek) of the idol with water, milk, and honey, followed by the application of vermilion (Sindoor) and sandalwood paste.
The main ritual involves reciting the Vishwakarma Puja Mantra: "Om Vishwakarmaaye Vidmahe Vaashudevaya Dhimahi Tanno Vishwakarma Pracodayat." Devotees offer prayers, seeking Lord Vishwakarma's blessings for skill, innovation, and success. Additional offerings include betel nuts, coins, and a piece of new cloth. The puja concludes with the distribution of Prasad (blessed offerings) among participants. Finally, devotees seek forgiveness for any past mistakes and pledge to work diligently, striving for excellence in their respective professions. By following this Vidhi, worshippers honour Lord Vishwakarma, ensuring a prosperous and productive year ahead.
