Why Do Krishna Devotees And Vaishnavas Wear Tulsi Kanthi Mala? 

In Hinduism, the Tulsi plant is extremely important. It is adored for its spiritual purity and is thought to be the incarnation of the goddess Lakshmi. A person's devotion to a spiritual path can be visually demonstrated by wearing a mala. It is revered by devotees as a sacred item that represents their loyalty to Lord Krishna. The auspiciousness and spiritual power of wearing the Tulsi Kanthi Mala are described in sacred scriptures like the Padma Purana and Bhakti-rasamrita-sindhu, which are consulted by devotees.

Rules For Wearing Tulsi Kanthi Mala 

- Adhere to four regulative principles: no meat, no gambling, no intoxication, and no illicit sex*.

- The devotee who wishes to wear the Kanthi Mala must not consume tea and coffee. 

- Keep onions and garlic out of your food and respect only prasadam (food dedicated to Lord Krishna).

- Wearing the Kanthi mala (Tulisimala) is recommended on all occasions, including using the toilet, taking a bath, having intercourse with your spouse, and being in a home where a death has occurred. Once worn, it should never be removed. 

- If someone wears a Tulsi Kanthi Mala only to seem like a Vaishnava, without really attempting to submit to the Lord and without abiding by the regulative principles, then that person is an offender and his spiritual service will not become better. Therefore, if one is not abiding by the four regulative principles, it is advised not to wear Kanthi Mala.

- Tulsi Mala is usually worn in one, two or three rounds. You can wear three strands to indicate your complete surrender level if it makes you feel comfortable. Even non-dikshit devotees may wear three strands without any problems. Some question if novice devotees are capable of wearing three strands. However, anyone who chants and complies with the previously listed disciplinary guidelines is allowed to wear three strands.
