India had a successful outing on the seventh day of the ongoing Asian Games 2023, winning five medals on Saturday, September 30. With this display, India has taken their medal tally to 38, behind only China, Japan, and South Korea.
India got their first gold medal in the men’s squash team event, a gold medal in mixed doubles in tennis, a silver medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event, and a silver and bronze medal in the men’s 10000m event.
Abhay Singh turned out to be a star for the Indian team as he led a remarkable comeback win over Pakistan in the men's team squash final to clinch the gold medal.

Abhay defeated Pakistan’s Noor Zaman 11-7, 9-11, 7-11, 11-9, 12-10 in an intense Match 3 to clinch Gold for India.
Indian tennis duo Rohan Bopanna and Rutuja Bhosale clinched the gold medal in mixed doubles with a thrilling victory over the Taiwan duo of Tsung-hao Huang and En-shuo Liang with a scoreline of 2-6, 6-3, 10-4.
The stunning victory continued India's impressive record of achieving at least one gold medal in each of the six Asian Games editions in the 21st century.
Indian long-distance runners Kartik Kumar and Gulveer Singh bagged the silver and bronze medals respectively in the men's 10,000m race
The Indian duo of Sarabjot Singh and Divya Thadigol put up a valiant effort but were forced to settle for silver in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed team final.
India's duo of Ayhika Mukherjee and Sutirtha Mukherjee stunned the world champions and world number 2 China in the quarter-finals of the women's doubles event in table tennis. They are now assured of at least a bronze medal in the ongoing continental meet
