Trio of Indian shooters - Rudranksh Patil, Aishwary Tomar and Divyansh Panwar - clinched the first gold for the country in the ongoing Asian Games 2023 on Monday. In the Men's 10 Metre Air Rifle Team Event, India created a world record with 1893.7 to finish on the top of the podium.
With a final score of 1890.1 points, South Korea won the silver medal. China finished in third place with 1888.2 points after falling well behind.
In the rowing men's four, the Indian quartet of Jaswinder Singh, Bheem Singh, Punit Kumar and Ashish won bronze with a timing of 6:10.81 in rowing behind Uzbekistan and China, who finished first and second respectively.

Indian athletes had a perfect start of the day with one gold and one bronze already bagged early in the day. India's medal tally stands at seven with one gold, three silver and three bronze medals.
In the men's four rowing final, Indian team clocked the timing of 6:10.81, getting the bronze medal. The gold medal was won by China (6:10.04) and Uzbekistan took home the gold with a timing of 6:04.96.
With this India added their fourth medal in the rowing so far.
Indian rower Balraj Panwar finished in fourth spot in the final of the men's single sculls event earlier in the day.
Clocking the timing of 7:08.79, Balraj missed out on what could have been India's fourth medal at rowing.
The gold medal went to China's Liang Zhang (6:57.06), and the silver was bagged by Ryuta Arakawa (6:59.79). Finally, the bronze went to Hong Kong's Chun Hin Chiu (7:00.55).
