Indian rowers Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh have clinched a silver medal in the men's lightweight doubles sculls event at the Asian Games 2023, adding to India's medal tally, the first in rowing. Their impressive performance at the Fuyang Water Sports Centre in Hangzhou earned them a medal in the prestigious event.

Clocking a time of 6:28.18s, Arjun and Arvind narrowly missed the gold medal, which was secured by China's Junjie Fan and Man Sun with a time of 6:23.16s. The bronze medal went to the Uzbekistan pair of Shakhzod Nurmatov and Sobirjon Safaroliyev.

With a diverse range of rowing categories at the Asian Games 2023, Indian rowers will have ample opportunities to showcase their talents. The 29-member Indian rowing squad, supported by four substitutes, will feature a mix of experienced athletes and promising young talents, creating a well-rounded team ready for the Asian Games.

Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh's participation in the Tokyo Olympics provided them with valuable exposure to the global stage, and their experience played a crucial role in their performance at the Asian Games.


India Win Their First Medal Of Asian Games 2023

Earlier in the day, in the women's 10m Air Rifle team event, the trio of Ramita, Mehuli Ghosh, and Ashi Chouksey secured a silver medal, marking India's first medal at the prestigious event. Their exceptional performance in the Women's 10-metre Air Rifle category earned them a remarkable score of 1886. Ramita finished with 631.9, Mehuli with 630.8, and Ashi with 623.3 points.
