Cristiano Ronaldo surpassed Erling Haaland to become the top goal scorer in 2023 as he helped his team beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 5- in the Euro 2024 qualifier at the Bilino Polje Stadium on Tuesday.
The 38-year-old forward put Portugal ahead after converting a penalty before scoring his 127th international goal to make it 2-0.

Ronaldo, who is heading towards his 40s, continues to dominate the goalscoring charts as he did it all his career over the years. He has scored 31 goals in 35 games for Al-Nassr and nine in seven games for Roberto Martinez's side, all in the ongoing Euro 2024 qualifiers.
Ronaldo scored a brace against Slovakia as well to help his team register a 3-2 win and confirm a place in the Germany finals next year.
A few days later, the star footballer was once again on the scoresheet as he scored his 126th and 127th goals to increase the gap over second-placed Iran's Ali Daei and Argentine superstar Lionel Messi.
In the aftermath of their Euro 2024 qualification, Ronaldo's Portugal teammate and Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes emphasised the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's significant role within the national squad.
