Indonesia Open 2025: India's star men's doubles pair of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy suffered a heartbreaking loss during the Indonesia Open 2025 quarterfinal on Friday as they lost to the Malaysian duo of Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun. The Indian pair lost by 19-21, 16-21 during a match which went for about 40 minutes and thus India's campaign came to an end in the ongoing tournament.

Both Shetty and Rankireddy were seen struggling while serving and returning against Man and Wee, who had also clinched the Malaysia Masters and Indonesia Masters titles this year.

At the same time, the Indian duo also struggled while defending and were often seen making unforseeable errors in the game against the Malaysians.

Satwik had smashed a few shots towards the net and helped the Malaysian duo take a lead of 9-7. The Malaysians were leading by 11-9 at the half-time.

Satwik and Chirag were able to bring the score to 11-all by playing aggressively but then Man and Tee made a brilliant comeback and were leading by 15-12. The Indian duo were once again able to level the score at 17-17 since the Malaysian pair had made two errors but they couldn't take advantage of this.

Tee then bounced back brilliantly and took the score to 19-17 but then Chirag took advantage of a poor net shot. And then Satwik made another error and helped the Malaysian duo score a game point.

After changing the court, Satwik and Chirag were having a hard time during the second game as they were trailing by 3-7. The Malaysian duo took advantage of the flat trajectory and drift as Tee played a smart smash and thus they were leading by 15-9.

Even though they were trailing by 13-17, the Indian duo did try to bounce back. They started playing aggressively and took the score to 16-18, which also included some brilliant flat smashes.

But Man's skills towards the net and Tee's curling floater helped them take the score to 20-16 as they had scored four consecutive match points and thus the Malaysian duo qualified for the semifinals.
