During a livestream hosted by RaKai, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., son of the legendary Portuguese striker, shared a comment that instantly went viral: he claimed that Lamine Yamal is currently better than his father. "Lamine is very good, but he still hasn’t won anything yet," he admitted. He didn’t hesitate to say that the FC Barcelona winger is, at this moment, ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo, who currently plays for Al-Nassr.

Cristiano Ronaldo, even at 40, continues to defy age and expectations with his remarkable performances on the field. His fitness, hunger for goals, and unmatched dedication make him one of the most consistent footballers in the world, despite being in the twilight of his career. Ronaldo’s ability to adapt his playing style—from a flying winger in his youth to a clinical striker now—demonstrates his footballing intelligence and longevity.
It is to be noted that the Portugal captain Ronaldo got the better of Yamal in their recent face off against each other when Portugal defeated Spain in the final of the UEFA National League. While Yamal remained out of touch in the summit clash, Ronaldo found the back of the net to make it 2-2 before Portugal won the match 5-3 on penalties.
Talking about Yamal, the young Barcelona forward was in the sublime form last season and played a major role to help his club clinch a famous domestic treble. Apart from winning the 2024/25 La Liga title and the Spanish Super Cup, Yamal also has UEFA Euro 2024 title win under his belt with Spain just at the age of 17.
During the Nations League tournament, Ronaldo acknowledged Yamal's rising brilliance but said that there's still a room for improvement. "He's going to win a lot of titles, both collective and individual. He's only 17 years old... I repeat: he's a kid with a lot of room for improvement. He's a phenomenon, but we have to leave him alone, that's what I ask. He has a very long career ahead of him and will surely win the Nations League many times," said Ronaldo.
