Messi's Delhi stop on the GOAT India Tour followed his visits to Kolkata, Hyderabad and Mumbai. While his Kolkata outing was marred by chaos, the Hyderabad and Mumbai legs of the tour went by smoothly.

Chants of "Messi, Messi" filled the air. Some fans held posters of the Argentine legend as thousands gathered outside the stadium.

Fans queued up in large numbers outside Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium where football icon Lionel Messi is set to be present on Monday as he will cap off his GOAT India Tour with the Indian capital.

As per the official update from the ground, the event will begin at 3 PM IST. All the fans, who have bought the tickets for the event, have received the message on their respective phones.

Ranjit Bajaj, founder of Minerva Academy, expressed his excitement about meeting Lionel Messi, calling it a "dream come true". He believes it's an excellent opportunity for the children to meet their idol. Bajaj also emphasised that the public is there to see Messi, not politicians, highlighting the football star's massive appeal.

Similarly, it was a memorable day for cricket and football fans alike present at Mumbai's iconic Wankhede Stadium as Lionel Messi graced the venue with his presence as a part of his 'GOAT India Tour' 2025 and met Indian football legend Sunil Chhetri and the country's 'Bharat Ratna', the cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar.

However, Messi's visit to Hyderabad was a fun experience for everyone involved. He took part in a 7-on-7 exhibition football match involving the state's Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, soaked in the love from a passionate and loud audience and also met the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi.

Messi's Kolkata leg of the GOAT Tour descended into chaos on Saturday as fans who paid high ticket prices at Salt Lake Stadium's event began throwing bottles and attempting to break the gates between the stands after the Argentine legend left early.

Spectators attending the event have been asked to enter the stadium through designated gates based on their approach routes. Gates 1 to 8 can be accessed from Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg on the southern side, Gates 10 to 15 from JLN Marg near the Ambedkar Stadium Bus Terminal on the eastern side, and Gates 16 to 18 from Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg near the petrol pump on the western side.

As per reports, Lionel Messi's arrival has been delayed due to smoggy conditions in Delhi. The star footballer is likely to arrive in Delhi by 2 PM. Stay tuned for live updates!
