Things got heated in the middle after Seattle Sounders stunned Inter Miami 3-0 in the League Cup final on Monday. The players of both teams engaged in an on-field brawl.

The in-form Lionel Messi had a disappointing outing, specially in the first half, as he squandered some easy chances in the match on Saturday night. Luis Suarez, who had a horrible first half himself, looked like a much-improved player after the break, but even he couldn't guide his team to victory. However, what happened after the full-time whistle saw everyone lose their minds.

Soon after the final whistle, the players of both teams got involved in a heated altercation and even were seen throwing punches at each other, with some even resorting to choking. The clash soon drew in team staff as well, and Miami’s big names—Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets—were also caught up in the scuffle.

The security and match officials tried their best to resolve things between the two teams, but the brawl only got intense with players hunting each other in a pack.

In a viral video surfacing on social media, legendary forward Luis Suarez was seen confronting the Seattle Sounders assistant coach, who refused to speak to him. As the former Barcelona star was being taken away, he appeared to have spat on the coach's face too.

On the other hand, Lionel Messi stayed away from the chaos, with footage capturing him warmly congratulating and embracing Seattle’s Cristian Roldan. Meanwhile, Inter Miami's clueless performance in the League Cup final saw Messi miss out on his 47th trophy.

Talking about the match, Osaze De Rosario opened the scoring for Seattle Sounders in the 26th minute before Alex Roldan converted a penalty in the second half. It was Paul Rothrock who put the final nail in the coffin by scoring the third goal of the game for the Sounders.

The victory earned Seattle direct entry to the round of 16 in the regional tournament that will decide one 2029 FIFA Club World Cup berth.
