Paris Olympics 2024: India's star shooter Manu Bhaker has dismissed social media rumors about her conversation with Neeraj Chopra just a day before the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics 2024. The whole social media went into a frenzy after a video of Neeraj talking to Manu and her mother at a celebratory event went viral.

Manu Bhaker dismissed all the speculations and revealed that she and her good friend Neeraj Chopra only get chances to talk with each other in multi-sport tournaments like this one. While Manu attends her shooting training routines in India, Neeraj on the other hand, spends most of his time overseas.

"I don't know much about it. I was not there when this happened. But since 2018 we have been meeting on the sidelines of events. We don't have that much interaction otherwise. During events, we talk a little. But there is no truth to the rumors that are going around," Manu was quoted as saying to News18 after she was asked to react to these rumors.

Manu Bhaker's father also dismissed these speculations and said that his daughter is just 22 and hasn't reached the marriageable age yet.

"Manu is still very young. She is not even of marriageable age. Not even thinking about it right now," Kisan Bhaker was quoted as saying to Dainik Bhasker.

"Manu's mother considers Neeraj like her son," he added.

Manu and Neeraj make India proud in Paris

Manu Bhaker had clinched the country's first medal at the quadrennial event, as she had won the bronze medal in the women's 10 air pistol event. She also ended the country's 12-year Olympic medal drought in the sport. She also won another bronze medal along with Sarobjit Singh in the mixed 10m air pistol event.

She had also become the first athlete after independence to have won more than one medal in a single edition of the Olympics. And that's why she became the country's flagbearer at the closing ceremony on Sunday.

At the same time, Neeraj Chopra is considered one of the country's best Olympians after he won the silver medal at the men's javelin final event. Although he couldn't defend his Olympic gold medal he did finish with the second best throw of 89.45m and eventually won the silver medal.

Neeraj Chopra hasn't come back to the country after clinching the medal as he has flown to Germany to get some advice for his groin injury.
