Diamond League 2025 Final:India’s two-time Olympic medallist Neeraj Chopra struggled to gain his rythm in Zurich, finishing second in the Diamond League 2025 javelin throw event final with a best throw of 85.01m on Thursday.
Neeraj's final-round effort proved to be a masterstroke, as he delivered a clutch throw of 85.01m to secure second place ahead of Keshorn Walcott.
Julian Weber took home the title with a best throw of 91.51m, which came in his second attempt. Trinidad and Tobago’s Keshorn Walcott finished third with a best throw of 84.95m.

Neeraj's efforts were a tale of two halves, marked by a rocky start with fouls and modest throws. However, he turned the tables with a clutch 85.01m throw in the final round, securing second place.
After a shaky start marred by three successive faults, the two-time Olympic champion had shown commitment earlier with an 84.35m throw in his first attempt and an 82m effort in his second.
In contrast, Keshorn Walcott floundered to find his footing, throwing a season-best throw of 77m, while Anderson Peters (78.77m) and Andrian Mardare (77.28m) also fell short.
Julian Weber made a spectacular statement with a dominant opening throw of 91.37m, following it with a throw of 91.51m.
Neeraj's outstanding performance in Zurich adds to his growing list of accomplishments, following his Diamond League trophy win in 2022 and runner-up finishes in 2023 and 2024.
