Indian shooters Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh claimed a bronze medal in the mixed team 10m air pistol final at the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024 on Monday.

The 22-year-old Bhaker, as a result, became the first Indian to win two medals at the same edition of the Olympics. Earlier she had won the women's 10m air pistol bronze on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Sarabjot Singh is now the sixth Indian shooter to win a medal at the Summer Games.

As soon as Manu and Sarabjot secured bronze medal in mixed team 10m air pistol event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his official X account to congratulate the phenomenal victory of Indian shooters.

Beijing Olympics' gold medal-winning shooter Abhinav Bindra also congratulated the shooters and said 'savour this moment, you've earned it.'

Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah praised the resilience of the Indian shooters and wrote on his X account, "you both were clinical today at the 10m air pistol mixed team bronze medal match! Your resilience throughout the event was incredible. Cherish this moment - it brings immense pride to our nation!"

Bhaker, in particular, scored 10.0 or more on ten of her thirteen shots in the final. An unprecedented third Olympic medal awaits her in the women's 25m pistol event, which begins on Friday, August 2.
