Perplexity is stepping up its game in the AI space with the launch of a premium subscription tier called Perplexity Max, priced at $200 per month. Taking a cue from OpenAI’s business strategy, this new plan is aimed squarely at users who want full access to cutting-edge AI tools and features.
In a blog post, the company described the Max plan as their most advanced offering yet, designed for those who “demand limitless AI productivity and immediate access to the newest products and features”.

Perplexity Max comes packed with exclusive perks. Chief among them is unlimited access to Labs, a powerful toolset that allows users to build spreadsheets, dashboards, and even web apps. According to Perplexity, “using Labs is like having a team,” enabling people to get more done through about 10 minutes of “self-supervised work” with tools such as deep web browsing, code execution, and visual content creation.
Subscribers to the Max tier also get access to some of the most powerful AI models available, including OpenAI’s o3-pro and Anthropic’s Claude Opus 4. Other benefits include priority customer support and early access to experimental features and products — such as Comet, Perplexity’s upcoming Chromium-based AI web browser that will also assist in automating tasks.
Targeted at professionals, content creators, researchers, and business strategists, the new subscription plan reflects the company’s ambition to become a key player in the productivity and enterprise AI space. Perplexity confirmed that it’s also working on an enterprise version of the Max plan, though further details haven’t been shared yet.
Currently, Perplexity Max is available on the web and iOS. However, there’s no word yet on when the Android version will arrive.
In addition to the Max plan, Perplexity still offers its Pro subscription at $20 per month, as well as an Enterprise Pro option for $40. Last month, the startup also introduced an AI video generation tool that lets users create videos directly on X (formerly Twitter).
