Apple WWDC 2025: At this year’s Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC25), Apple rolled out a wave of major updates across all its platforms — from iPhone to iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Vision Pro. Coming this fall, these new releases combine powerful new features with a stunning visual redesign, putting personalization, intelligence, and cross-device continuity at the center of the Apple experience.

Here’s a breakdown of the biggest announcements from today’s keynote:

A New Look: Say Hello to Liquid Glass

Apple introduced a completely new design language called Liquid Glass, now shared across iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe, watchOS 26, and tvOS 26. The sleek, translucent design brings a fresh look to everything — from navigation controls to widgets and app icons — while keeping the experience intuitive and familiar. With this new design comes another big change: unified version numbers across all Apple platforms, making it easier to track updates and features.

Apple Intelligence Just Got Smarter

Apple’s AI system, Apple Intelligence, is leveling up in a big way. A standout feature is Live Translation, which lets you communicate across languages in real time — perfect for texting or speaking when you need help bridging a language gap.

Other upgrades include:

  • Genmoji and Image Playground updates for more playful, personalized content.
  • Visual Intelligence, which allows your iPhone to understand what’s on screen so you can search for similar images, get answers, or even shop across apps like Etsy and Google.
  • Integration with ChatGPT to get deeper insights into what you're viewing.

Phone, Messages, and Mac: Smarter, More Seamless

iOS 26 brings a major refresh to the Phone app, which now combines Favourites, Recents, and Voicemail into a single, clean view. Call Screening also makes its debut, helping you handle unknown callers with real-time transcripts. And in Messages, you can now screen unknown senders, add custom chat backgrounds, and even create polls with your friends.

Continuity gets an upgrade too: the Phone app is coming to Mac, and Live Activities from your iPhone can now show up directly on your Mac screen — no need to pick up your phone.

iPad Becomes More Like a Computer

With iPadOS 26, multitasking on iPad gets a serious boost. You can now freely resize app windows, arrange them however you want, and open more windows at once. The Files app also gets a big update with a new List view, easier folder management (you can drag folders straight into the Dock), and customization options like color tags, icons, and emoji.

watchOS 26 adds Workout Buddy, a personalized AI coach that offers spoken motivation during workouts. The Workout app has a refreshed design and even suggests music tailored to your activity.

Vision Pro Gets More Spatial Power with visionOS 26

With visionOS 26, the Apple Vision Pro becomes even more immersive. Widgets now float spatially in your environment and appear automatically when you put on the headset. Personas — the digital version of you — look far more realistic with better hair, skin, and facial detail.
