APPLE, which is all set to introduce the latest flagship iPhone 15 series later this year, has already become the talk of the town because of the speculations of its buttonless design. In a new update, the company would not be continuing with the buttonless design and has dropped the plan, suggests a report citing the shareholder letter.

Cirrus Logic, one of the suppliers to Apple which accounts for over 79 percent of its revenue in the 2022 fiscal year, has reportedly confirmed that the company has dropped the plan of providing a button-less design.

Ming-Chi Kuo, an Apple analyst has previously announced that the iPhone 15 Pro would come up with Taptic Engines which will provide haptic feedback when these solid-state buttons are pressed. But, the recent reports citing the supplier suggest that it is the other way around.

Now, the company is expected to have the normal buttons which were available with the iPhone 14 Pro models. Further, the report suggests that the Ring-Silent button will be changed to a button that will be a customisable option just like the Apple Watch Ultra’s action button.

If the reports are correct, this would be the most significant change to the iPhone series since the invention of smartphones. According to the report, the change will be available only for iPhone 15 Pro models, while the vanilla trim and iPhone 15 Plus models will retain the same ring-switch button.

According to the report, which cites some analysts, the solid-state buttons will now be announced with the iPhone 16 Pro and will be available next year. However, the report continues to focus on the hardware's uncertainty because the supplier knows little about the upcoming iPhone 15 series.
