After the iPhone 16 series, the second big thing that the Apple fans are waiting for is the Apple Intelligence features. The tech giant has not introduced the new AI-powered features with the iOS 18 update and announced to introduce it in a phased manner with the iOS 18.1. But have you ever wondered about how much space Apple Intelligence features will take on your iPhone?
According to 9To5Mac citing Apple-published documents included in the iOS 18.1 beta, Apple Intelligence features will require 4GB storage. For those unaware, the Apple Intelligence features will run on iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max along with the latest iPhone 16 series and iPads and Mac models with M1.
It clearly means that iPhones will need 4GB storage to download and install the new AI features. As per the report, this is on top of the storage required to install the iOS 18.1 update. Do note that the iPads or Macs will need different storage spaces. However, Apple has not shared the exact storage information for Apple Intelligence features.
Additionally, the report stated that the 4GB storage included an asterisk which could be because this is the initial set of AI features. Apple has also added a footnote which states that storage requirements for on-device Apple Intelligence models will increase as more features are added.
It is still unknown how much more storage capacity will Apple take for the AI features. The report stated that it could take over up to 8GB by the next year. However, it is not confirmed and the users are advised to take this update with a pinch of salt.

So it is not wrong to say that the users will now have to clean up the iPhone’s storage space to update and get their hands on Apple Intelligence features.
