Apple has officially released iPadOS 17 for global users, along with iOS 17 and watchOS10. This free software update includes several features that allow users to personalise their iPads while also improving productivity and communication.

Personalisation:

With iPadOS 17, users can completely personalise their iPad, beginning with the Lock Screen. The update adds beautiful backgrounds, new methods to display cherished photographs, and the opportunity to customise the appearance of the date and time with expressive fonts and colours. Interactive widgets display information at a glance and allow users to accomplish actions directly from the Lock Screen or Home Screen with a single swipe.

Communication:

Updates to the Messages app make it easier to find messages and allow users more opportunities to express themselves. Emoji stickers and the ability to create Live Stickers by extracting subjects from photographs are part of a new sticker experience. This feature gives iPad conversation a fun and creative twist.

Enhanced FaceTime:

With iPadOS 17, FaceTime becomes even more entertaining. When a call goes unanswered, users can now leave audio or video messages and engage in reactions during calls using simple gestures. The update also makes use of the Continuity Camera feature, which allows users to start a video call directly from Apple TV or effortlessly transfer a call from iPad to Apple TV.

Simplified PDF Handling:

With iPadOS 17, working with PDFs on the iPad becomes a breeze. A new feature called AutoFill will find and fill form fields with data from Contacts. Notes provide enhanced PDF organisation, reading, annotation, and collaboration capabilities. Users can now easily connect one note to another, increasing productivity.

Health App And Privacy:

For the first time, the Health app is available for iPad, tailored for the larger screen. HealthKit can be used by developers to create unique health and fitness experiences while adhering to strict privacy and data security regulations.

Productivity

Stage Manager is new in iPadOS 17, and it allows for additional flexibility in window arrangement as well as the usage of an external display camera for FaceTime and conference calls. Safari profiles enable users to divide their browsing for distinct topics. For seamless collaboration, Freeform adds new sketching tools and a Follow Along feature, while the Keyboard gains significant autocorrect improvements for faster and more accurate text entering.
