Analysts have noted that the iPhone 15 has not been selling as well in China as its predecessor did. According to Counterpoint Research, sales of the iPhone 15 in China fell by 4.5% in the first 17 days after its debut compared to the iPhone 14.

Apple has occasionally permitted partner vendors to provide discounts in an effort to increase demand in China. Discounts have become a major reason to drive the sales due to the weak economy and as a result, the Chinese e-commerce platforms are playing a value for money war.

The 512 GB iPhone 15 is currently available on JD.com for 7,498 yuan, which is 1,501 yuan cheaper than Apple's official 8,999 yuan price. JD.com claims that this pricing strategy aligns with their business model, which they launched this year and consists of offering reasonable and competitive rates.
