Apple seems set to release a new laptop model, likely to be called the budget MacBook, that will expand its user base by offering its high-end specifications at a low cost. With this new model, Kuo estimates it could be released by 2026, with an A18 Pro chip powering it, just like the one anticipated for the iPhone 16 Pro.

Why A18 Pro and Not M-Series?

By using the A18 Pro, it looks like Apple is trying to target students, entry-level buyers, or casual users with a light-weight and low cost handset. While it does not compete with the M-series MacBooks in terms of power, the A18 Pro should be able to deliver a good amount of speed, efficiency, and AI capabilities which is a hallmark of Apple’s mobile processors.
