Asus ROG Phone 8 Launch Date In India: Soon after Taiwanese smartphone maker Asus teased the global launch date of the ROG (Republic of Gamers) Phone 8 series, the company teased the India debut of one of the handsets. The update comes after a confirmation that the gaming smartphones will be showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), ASUS India shared that the "ROG Phone 8 is dropping on January 8." The company teased the slim bezels of the device in its X post. The ROG Phone 8 will have a centre-punch hole camera and could sport a metallic frame. Leaks in the past have claimed that the manufacturer may introduce two models in the lineup - ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro.

No update on the arrival of the 'Pro' models was shared in the post. Apart from the specifications, the phone may also pack a range of gaming-centric features. Meanwhile, Windows Report leaked the complete specifications of the phone in a previous report. Here are the full details.

Asus ROG Phone 8 Series Specifications

According to reports, the Asus handsets may have a 6.78-inch FHD+ 165Hz AMOLED screen with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. Under the hood, the devices could offer an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU with Adreno 750 GPU. As for the storage, the 'Pro' phone will likely offer up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. The phone may run on ROG UI based on Android 14.

The models could have an IP68 rating and sport a 5,500mAh battery with 65W Quick Charge 5.0 and PD Charging. As for the optics, the 8 Pro may sport a triple camera setup with a 50MP primary, 13 MP ultrawide and 32MP 3X zoom lens on the back and a 32MP selfie shooter. As for connectivity, the phones may offer Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, a headphone jack, and a USB-C port. Considering the specifications and the company's track record, Asus may price the handset in the sub-Rs 70,000 price bracket with 8 Pro at a starting price of Rs 85,000.
