Krafton has launched the much-awaited BGMI 4.0 update, and this time the battlefield is spookier and more innovative than before. The Halloween-themed wallpaper brings haunted environments, ghostly teammates, and wacky equipment along with it and also tweaks balance and improves performance on devices.

Haunted Mansions, Pumpkin Monster, and Prankster Ghosts

The peak of this update is the creepy new environment. Creepy mansions with spooky ornamentation and floating islands now show up in matches. There is also the ability to fight pumpkin-fused enemies, with the Pumpkin Monster boss battle providing an added challenge for teams eager for action.

Adding to the eerie vibe, players can now unlock a Ghost companion. Far from cosmetic, this spectral ally provides real tactical advantages, such as creating protective shields, repairing armour, and offering balloon travel. Even after a player is eliminated, they can return as a Prankster Ghost to support teammates by marking enemy positions or setting off small explosions. This twist ensures that gameplay remains exciting even when you’re out of the fight.

The Magic Broom has another enjoyable ability, as it can make the player fly a short distance. It's both a mobility tool and an improvisational escape vehicle in the midst of an intense exchange of fire.

Mortar Weapon and Balance Changes

The newest player in the arsenal is the Mortar. Its bombardment-at-a-distance feature introduces a new strategic component well-suited for area-controlling or laying siege to enemy formations at a distance. For fairer combat, Krafton has also rebalanced the DBS shotgun and bolt-action rifles. Attachments have also been adjusted, allowing players more meaningful decisions when it comes to loadout customisation.

Downloads and Optimisation

The update is released on both iOS (App Store) and Android (Play Store). Due to its huge size, Krafton advises using Wi-Fi and ensuring that your device has sufficient available space. More resource packs will also have to be installed within the game.

Apart from content, BGMI 4.0 also includes notable performance enhancements. Gamers can anticipate smoother animation, enhanced network optimisation, and more consistent outcomes on mid-range hardware. Through these updates, Krafton makes sure that the game not only feels new but also performs more consistently on hardware.
