Call of Duty fans are in for an immense content refresh with Season 5 of Black Ops 6 and Warzone, set to debut August 7 at 9 AM PST. Activision released an exciting trailer teasing this update showcasing new weapons, game modes, maps, and returning characters, as well as multiplayer modes like Multiplayer, Zombies, or Warzone that should make this August 7th update one of the biggest of 2019.

Here’s a complete breakdown of what to expect.

New Operators & Weapons

Season 5 will see the return of Sims as its star attraction. He can be seen in trailers wielding an all-new PML 5.56 light machine gun, which has been touted by developers as an alternative high-mobility option to the classic M249. Despite speculation to the contrary, however, developers confirmed this new weapon as something entirely separate from its classic M249 counterpart.

Also debuting this season:

ABR A1 Assault Rifle – Available at launch. A burst-fire weapon with excellent mid-range control.

Gravemark .357 Revolver – Drops mid-season. Expect a high-damage, slow-fire secondary for clutch takedowns.

Boxing Gloves (Melee)—Yes, literal boxing gloves. A fun, chaotic addition for close-quarters brawls.

Multiplayer: New and Reimagined Maps

Zombies Mode: A New Boss and Futuristic Arsenal

Reimagined WMD - Black Ops' classic battleground has returned, featuring visual and layout updates that bring it up-to-date.

Jackpot (Late Season) - Set in an alluring casino, this map brings back all the glitz and gunfights of Black Ops 4's Las Vegas-esque setting.

Two New Maps - Unnamed so far, these maps have been described as tight and medium-range focused.

Zombies Mode: Meet The New Boss And Unlock A Futuristic Arsenal

Season 5 will expand Zombies' footprint by:

Gorgofex Energy Cannon: A high-tech beam weapon offering splash damage and upgrade potential.

These additions aim to keep Zombies mode both chaotic and engaging for veterans of the genre. 

Game Modes: Combination of New and Nostalgia

Activision is diversifying its playlist rotation by offering new songs like:

Aim High is a new mode that rewards precision. 

Only headshots count, encouraging players to practice aim and movement to make headshots count.

Snipers Only - Now featuring changes tailored specifically for Black Ops 6 weapon balance adjustments.

Cranked Moshpit - Back by popular demand, this high-speed mode will feature regularly throughout the season.

Expect these modes to rotate frequently with featured playlists in Warzone.

Bonus: Legacy Call of Duty Games Being Re-Released

Legacy Call of Duty Games to Be Re-Released Activision made an unexpected announcement: two legacy Call of Duty titles would be re-released as standalone titles in 2019. Although no names were mentioned, fans anticipate enhanced or remastered editions of older favorites; details will likely follow shortly.
