EVER since the generative AI tools came into existence, the term artificial intelligence has become one of the most talked about topics for the evolution of technologies and how the workforce and businesses would be working in the coming future. Additionally, few reports have suggested that more developed tools can also help generate more revenue, specifically for businesses.
Statistics, on the other hand, reveal the same thing. According to a recent study conducted by the National Bureau of Economic Research, which used data from 5,179 customer service representatives to track the effects of a staggered rollout of an AI-based conversational assistant, it was discovered that it aids in the resolution of 14 percent of issues that employees have and that too faster.
"AI assistance improves customer sentiment, reduces requests for managerial intervention, and increases employee retention," wrote the study's authors, Erik Brynjolfsson, Danielle Li Lindsey, and R. Raymond.
Furthermore, the report stated that the greatest impact was noticed with low-skilled individuals, with only a minor influence on highly skilled people. According to the survey, this is because it helps newer employees progress up the experience curve by sharing the required knowledge from more experienced colleagues. Furthermore, it was stated that AI-assisted low-skilled people in communicating with high-skilled ones.
On the other hand, generative AI has been a disruptive innovation for businesses, and it is also turning the decks for the makers. It is indeed helping the professionals to do things faster and often better, said the report citing their top sources.

“Artificial Intelligence is not just about automating tasks, it's about empowering people to focus on what they do best. By leveraging AI, we can streamline processes, eliminate redundancies, and provide actionable insights that enable individuals across industries to make more informed decisions, unlocking their full potential and driving productivity to new heights,” said Mr. Atul Rai, Co-Founder & CEO, of Staqu Technologies.
However, the technology giants like Microsoft and Google are working on the development of new innovations and it would be interesting to see how AI would shape the internet and businesses in the future.
