CES 2026 Motorola: Motorola has added a new book-style foldable smartphone to its portfolio with the launch of the Motorola Razr Fold at CES 2026, which makes it the first phone in the segment. As opposed to the clamshell Razr Flip, the new Razr Fold rocks a bigger, more productivity-centred design with an 8.1-inch inner screen, triple 50-MP cameras, stylus support and on-device AI enhancements. The device is marketed as a versatile, multitasking phone that caters to the creation of content.

Motorola Razr Fold: Display and Design

The inner display of the Motorola Razr Fold is an 8.1-inch LTPO OLED with 2K resolution, promising smooth images and a power-efficient experience. On the outside, there’s a 6.6-inch cover display with a centred hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera.

Just in case, Motorola has opted for curves on the edges and a domineering central hinge along with its typical rear camera setup that matches the current smartphone design language. The foldable will be offered in Pantone Blackened Blue and Pantone Lily White hues.

Motorola Razr Fold: Camera Setup

Photography is taken care of by a three-camera setup on the rear, all utilising 50MP sensors:

50MP Sony LYTIA primary camera

16MP and 50MP periscope telephoto cameras with 3x CD trait zoom lenses.

50MP ultra-wide camera

For selfies and video calls, the Razr Fold features a 32MP camera on the cover display and a 20MP camera on the internal screen. Dolby Vision video recording support has been confirmed by Motorola.

Motorola Razr Fold: Stylus and AI Features

An interesting addition is the Moto Pen Ultra support, which enables using a stylus on the foldable display. It’s not clear yet if the stylus will be included with purchase or sold separately.

The Razr Fold also brings about a few more on-device AI elements, such as:

Catch Me Up: Summarises unread messages and calls to avoid getting overwhelmed with notifications

Next Step: Scans on-screen content and provides suggested actions and solutions

These are productivity features that help you work faster and reduce friction when moving between tasks.

What Motorola Hasn’t Revealed Yet

Motorola has not yet revealed major details like the processor, battery size and type, and its dimensions, as well as price and availability. We anticipate further release on these specifications closer to the retail launch of the device.

With the Razr Fold, Motorola is clearly trying to make a play for the premium end of foldables beyond its flip phones and into larger, multitasking-focused devices.
