Chatgpt Down Today Update: ChatGPT, a widely used AI-powered chatbot, experienced disruptions, preventing users from engaging in conversations or accessing their chat history.
Downdetector recorded a significant increase in outage reports, surpassing 1,000 at the time. Additionally, users also reported issues with other OpenAI services, suggesting that the company's GPT-4 and GPT-4 mini models might have also experienced downtime.
Around 5:30 pm (IST), OpenAI's website stated that it was facing an issue: “We are currently experiencing elevated error rates in the API. We are currently investigating," it said. Later, OpenAI updated that the issue had been “resolved."
Issue Now Resolved
“This issue has now been resolved. Between 3:33 AM and 4:23 AM PST, customers experienced elevated error rates on ChatGPT and the API," OpenAI mentioned in a status update.
Journalist Mario Nawfal also tweeted about the incident: “OpenAI is currently in the thick of an unresolved incident with ChatGPT and the API experiencing higher than usual error rates," he wrote on X.
During the outage, many users encountered a 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable error, while others reported seeing a “bad gateway" error.

Many users took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice their frustration and share their experiences.
-One user posted, “ChatGPT is down. Not sure what to do now….”, underscoring the growing reliance on the AI chatbot.
-Another joked, “ChatGPT is down and I’m starting to think the robots are staging a coup.”
-A third user simply wrote, “Every developer coming on X. Cause ChatGPT is down.”, highlighting the widespread disruption caused by the outage for those who depend on the platform for their work.
