ChatGPT maker and AI research company OpenAI introduces enhancements for users at regular intervals. In the latest move, the company is allowing free ChatGPT users to generate up to two images in a day using DALL-E 3. Taking to X (formerly called Twitter), the company shared the update and highlighted use cases such as creating images for slides, a greeting card or a visual representation of things.
For context, DALL-E 3 was only available to ChatGPT Plus users when it debuted in September. Access to AI image generation via the AI tool is also available in Microsoft offerings like Copilot. While the feature is available with restricted limits, it is still notably above the two-image ceiling of ChatGPT. The feature is "rolling out" and will be available to more users in a phased manner.

If the process in the video clip has not been altered, it appears the image generation may be faster than the offerings of Microsoft.

We could not access image generation in ChatGPT free on the web at the time of writing. DALL-E 3 is already available for Plus, Team and Enterprise accounts of ChatGPT and to developers via API. "When prompted with an idea, ChatGPT will automatically generate tailored, detailed prompts for DALL-E 3 that bring your idea to life," OpenAI said on its DALL-E 3 site. Users can also ask for tweaks with a few words.

Meanwhile, the company also released the GPT-4o system card of its audio capabilities to highlight the risks and guardrails that have been implemented by OpenAI to reduce harmful, biased and copyrighted content. GPT-4o is the latest LLM announced by OpenAI which powers ChatGPT.
