AADHAAR IDs have been proof of identification for several purposes. One such use case is registering a mobile number in your name. And keeping a track of numbers activated with your ID is equally important.

Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has deployed measures to 'ensure proper allocation of Telecom resources' to subscribers and protection of their interests in the past. In one such effort, it launched the Telecom Analytics for Fraud management and Consumer Protection (TAF-COP) portal to review the mobile numbers active with a user's photo IDs.

To check the mobile SIMs registered with your Aadhaar ID, you can follow the steps listed below:

Step 1: Go to https://tafcop.dgtelecom.gov.in/ website and enter your phone number and click on 'Request OTP'

Step 2: Enter the OTP and click on the 'Validate' button.

Step 3: Once you enter the OTP, you will be redirected to a page that lists the mobile numbers registered in your name.

If you see a suspicious number appearing in the list, you may select the 10-digit number via the checkbox on the left (of the number), opt for 'This is not my number' option and hit the 'Report' button.

If you no longer require a listed number, you can opt for 'Not required" from the options and follow the same procedure.
"If your mobile number is activated as corporate connection then all related mobiles of your corporate will be listed," according to TAF-COP. If things look good, you can hit the 'Logout' button.

Do note the status check is only available to - "Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Rajasthan, Telangana, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh(Leh), Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Lakshadweep and Puducherry Consumers ", TAF-COP states. However, we tried the process with a New Delhi registered number and it displayed the correct details.

In India, Aadhaar is among the necessary IDs for purposes like bank account opening, availing a phone number in your name and other diverse purposes.
