JE Technology Desk: Flipkart, a popular e-commerce giant in India, plans to launch 'Plus Premium Free Membership' in India. The company currently has one membership offering - Plus, that allows users to enjoy early access to products during the sale and Supercoin discounts during shopping. According to reports, the online giant teased the programme on its website. The images confirmed that it would be available to users for free, once they meet certain conditions.
Going by the name, it will be superior to the current 'Plus' plan. According to 91Mobiles, the benefits of the service will be revealed within "two weeks". It could be similar to the current membership that awards users with SuperCoins and other benefits and sit one step up compared to the 'Plus' membership.
The announcement comes after the Big Saving Days sale on the platform. In the future, Flipkart might be gearing up for its much-awaited annual "Big Billion Days" sale and pass on more benefits to consumers. The online giant has not revealed many details about the program yet. We will have more information once the membership launches.
Coming to the current Plus membership, it offers free shipping, early access to sales, SuperCoins and superior customer redressal mechanism. A user can join the membership by earning 200 SuperCoins in a year and tapping/clicking the 'Join Now' on their device through shopping on the platform.
A Plus user earns four SuperCoins for every Rs 100 spent on an order, and a non-Plus user gets two coins once shelling out the same amount. A Plus member can claim up to 100 SuperCoins in one order, and the limit is 50 SuperCoints for non-Plus users. These coins are credited once the return period expires. These SuperCoins expire one year after the end of the month in which they were credited.
