Samsung's Galaxy S-series flagships are renowned for offering industry-leading camera performance—and the Galaxy S25 Ultra was no different. Yet, even one of the best phones of 2025 isn't perfect, particularly when it comes to motion blur on photos. Now, new leaks suggest that Samsung may be gearing up to rectify that in the next Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Camera Upgrades in the Works

According to reliable tipster UniverseIce, Samsung is working on enhancing the primary camera of the S26 Ultra. It will reportedly still use the same 200MP ISOCELL HP2 sensor found in the S25 Ultra, but this time with a wider aperture lens. While the current model features an f/1.7 aperture, the tipster didn’t reveal the exact new figure—but a wider opening could mean better low-light photography and faster shutter response, which may help reduce motion blur.

Other Lenses Stay Familiar

The rest of the rear camera setup seems to remain unchanged:

  • 50MP ultrawide lens
  • 12MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom
  • 50MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom

This setup mirrors what we saw on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, so most of the photography gains may come from tuning and that rumoured wider aperture.

What Else Could Be New?

Aside from the camera, the Galaxy S26 Ultra may include some other hardware upgrades:

  • Battery: Leaks point to a minor increase to a 5,500mAh battery from 5,000mAh.
  • Charging: The device might also support 65W fast charging, up from the earlier 45W.

Processor: Samsung may surprisingly install a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 "Elite" variant on the phone, perhaps produced within its own foundry rather than TSMC. It's uncertain whether this would make a difference in performance, but it could enable Samsung to save on costs.

Waiting for the Big Reveal

While much of this remains unofficial, the leaks suggest Samsung is focused on refining what’s already great in its flagship series—especially in photography. If motion blur has been a pain point for you with the S25 Ultra, the Galaxy S26 Ultra might be worth waiting for.
