Google, the search engine giant, has finally celebrated 25 years in the world of technology. The search engine, which was developed on September 4, 1998, by American computer scientists Larry Page and Sergey Brin, has become an integral aspect of practically every internet user's life. The corporation, which is now involved in practically every area, from emails to generative AI, has seen a massive transition during the last 25 years. Here’s how Google became the synonym of the search engine.

Google Was Started In A Garage

Larry Page and Sergey Brin founded the business in Susan Wojcicki's garage. They were both PhD candidates at California's Stanford University. There, they both investigated how the World Wide Web functioned as well as the mechanism that would comb over the internet to find out which pages were linked to others, theorising that this may result in the development of a brand-new type of search engine. After that, they made a new search algorithm used to rank the search results based on the linking behaviour.

How Google Got Its Name?

After a few years, Page and Brin renamed the company Googol, which means a one followed by 100 zeroes in mathematics. They even switched from Susan Wojcicki and received $100,000 in funding.
