Google will soon discontinue accounts which are not used consistently on December 1 which is almost here. So, if you have some secondary accounts which you don’t check more often can be shut down. This comes after Google announced that it will start removing the accounts with the data in the Photos, Gmail, Contacts, storage and more.
What Is An Inactive Account?
If you have not used the account in the past two years, you might lose your account. If you have recently logged in to the account, or using it for reading or sending mails, you’re account. So, if you have not used an account, it is highly recommended that you should start using all of them starting today.

How To Keep Your Account Safe?
Here are certain steps that can help you save your account from Google’s latest move of deleting accounts.
1. Start reading and sending emails.
2. Use Google Drive and upload or download files.
3. Watch a YouTube video by using the same account.
4. Add or delete a photo on Google Photos
5. Download any application from the Play Store with the Google account.
Why Is Google Removing Accounts?
As per the latest policy change by Google, the company has highlighted that it has invested in the technology and tools which will protect users from security breaches, spams or phishing scams, but if the accounts are not used for a longer period of time, it may become a part of a security breach.

“This is due to the fact that forgotten or unattended accounts frequently rely on old or re-used passwords that may have been hacked, lack two-factor authentication, and receive fewer security checks from the user. According to our own research, abandoned accounts are at least 10 times less likely than active accounts to have 2-step verification enabled.”
Do note that Google will be removing only personal accounts and if you have educational or business accounts, you are safe. Further, the accounts with the YouTube videos uploaded will not be affected by the policy change.
