Google’s Gemini AI is streamlining how users interact with its apps, moving away from the older “extensions” system to a more natural prompting approach. Previously, users had to invoke apps with commands like @YouTube or @Google Maps, but Gemini now encourages users to ask for what they want directly, without app-specific syntax.
Key Changes in Gemini
- The Apps page is now called Connected Apps on gemini.google.com.
- Apps such as YouTube, Google Maps, Google Flights, and Google Hotels are no longer explicitly listed, nor can you tag them in the prompt box.
- Functionality remains fully intact; users can simply phrase requests naturally.
