Google I/O 2024 Updates: Soon after confirming that Google I/O will go live on May 14 this year, Google has now shared a session list of the event. I/O 2024 will include over 150 sessions and learning content. The four focus areas will be Mobile, Web, AI and Cloud. The company will showcase a host of updates around Android 15, generative AI features and more.

On its official website, Google highlighted 16 topics which will be among the talking points at I/O 2024. These include Accessibility, AI/Machine Learning, Android, Angular, AR/VR, Chrome OS, Cloud, Design, Firebase, Flutter, Go, Google Play, Location/Maps, Smart Home, Wear OS, and Web. The content type will range from keynote, technical sessions and workshops.

For Android, the developments will include Android 15, generative AI and more. In Google AI, these updates will comprise Gemini API, Google AI Studio, Gemma and more. Other announcements will revolve around the development tools in Android and generative AI features in Firebase.

Moreover, new updates and tools in Google Play, Flutter, ChromeOS, Angular, Google Workspace, Google Cloud and the web experience will also be a part of the sessions. The company will also discuss new features of Wear OS 5 and its improved Watch Face Format. Google will also unveil new tools for the in-car experience of Android. For big screens, enhancements for Google TV and Android TV OS will also be in focus.

Updates for Material Design, passkeys and user experience on Android shall also draw attention at I/O 2024. Meanwhile, Google is expected to introduce the Google Pixel 8a at the launch event. The smartphone could sit below the Google Pixel 8 in terms of price. In India, it could be available on Flipkart and sit in the sub-Rs 45,000 price bracket. You can read more on this here.
