Google Photos update: To mark its 10th anniversary, Google Photos introduced a revamped editing experience designed specifically for everyday users. Rather than catering to professionals, the update focused on casual photo and video enhancements—simple, fast, and intuitive.

A standout feature of the update was Reimagine, a tool that allowed users to type in what they wanted changed in an image. Whether it was turning a cloudy sky into a vibrant sunset or adjusting lighting to match a mood, the AI interpreted the prompt and modified the photo accordingly.

Another new feature, Auto Frame, automatically adjusted composition by identifying and focusing on the subject of the photo. There was no need for manual cropping or zooming—Google Photos handled it with a single tap.

Google also added a faster way to share albums. Instead of sending links or searching through contacts, users could now generate a QR code for any album. Anyone nearby could scan the code and instantly view the shared content, streamlining the process.

This wasn’t a dramatic overhaul. Google Photos kept the experience familiar, focusing on enhancements that made sense within the app’s ecosystem. The new features felt like natural extensions, requiring no learning curve and no extra steps.
