Google’s upcoming Pixel 10 series is shaping up to be its most AI-forward smartphone lineup yet, especially when it comes to photography. According to a report from Android Headlines, the company is developing a new feature called Camera Coach, which is expected to use Gemini AI to provide real-time tips while you're framing a shot. Think of it as having a virtual assistant in your viewfinder — one that helps with composition and lighting adjustments before you even tap the shutter.
The Camera Coach is expected to be available across all Pixel 10 models and will reportedly analyze the scene live as you prep your shot. That said, speed will be key — if there’s too much delay, users may miss their moment. While the actual responsiveness is still unclear, the intention is to deliver instant, useful guidance as you shoot.

Alongside this, Google is also working on Conversational Photo Editing, another Gemini-powered tool. With this, users will be able to tweak photos using simple voice or text prompts like “brighten this photo” or “remove the person in the background”. No editing skills or menu digging required — the goal is to make retouching as easy as chatting with a friend. The feature highlights Google's continued emphasis on software-driven enhancements for mobile photography.
Major Camera and Hardware Changes Coming to Pixel 10
Beyond the software features, the Pixel 10 is tipped to get notable hardware updates as well. The standard model may finally feature a triple-camera setup, including a primary lens, an ultra-wide sensor, and a telephoto unit — a first for the base Pixel model.
Google is also said to be refreshing the colour palette. Gone are the Peony, Wintergreen, and Porcelain hues seen on the Pixel 9. In their place, the Pixel 10 series is expected to debut Indigo, Frost, and Limoncello, with Obsidian remaining as the only carryover shade.
As for the premium models, the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL are expected to maintain the same 6.3-inch and 6.8-inch display sizes as last year. Battery life, however, could see a major improvement, with the Pro XL variant rumoured to include a 5,200mAh battery — the largest ever in a Pixel phone.
Meanwhile, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is shaping up to be the most expensive model in the lineup. It’s likely to retain the design language of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold but with some thoughtful upgrades. The cover display could increase to 6.4 inches and sport slimmer bezels. It’s also rumored to pack a 5,015mAh battery and support faster charging speeds — up to 23W wired and 15W wireless via Qi2.
Under the Hood: Tensor G5 and Launch Timeline
All Pixel 10 devices are expected to run on the new Tensor G5 chip, reportedly built using TSMC’s 3nm process, which should bring efficiency and performance improvements across the board.
Google is expected to unveil the entire Pixel 10 series on August 20, with pre-orders opening the same day. Most models are likely to begin shipping from August 28.
